Sparco Eagle RS8.2 Driver Suit

The Eagle RS-8.2 suit uses a combination of Hocotex and Eagle fabrics to produce an ultra lightweight and breathable race suit. With the aim of obtaining a closer and more modern fit, preformed armholes have been used, and, in line with the requirements linked to driver mobility during a race, the elasticized panels have been optimized (armholes, sides and elasticized back). The main structure of the suit, like in the previous version, is the tried and tested characteristic Hocotex, (single-layer multilayer weave 0.6 mm ultra-thin fabric), combined with other accessory fabrics, among which Eagle elasticized fabric (by now well-known and used in various Sparco models), and panels in contrast in flat ultralight cloth for anti-abrasion reinforcements on the legs and arms. Stitched quilting made with thin yarn, concealed pockets, preformed neck and belt with the characteristic Sparco logo. Extractor flap inserted in the armhole (characteristic and especially comfortable, especially not interfering with the positioning of the Hans).

As Sparco's most well known competition seat, it was a no-brainer to provide the refreshed Evo with Sparco's QRT Ultra-Light Technology. Not content to leave well enough alone, Sparco went a step further by improving the overall fit and feel of the Sparco Evo Carbon Fiber. Starting with the shoulder bolsters, Sparco trimmed down the width to help fitment into smaller cars without sacrificing support. Sparco then lowered the side bolsters just enough to improve ingress/egress into/out of the car. Finally, the shoulder belt guides have been raised for improved harness fit in all drivers. With small sports cars in mind (the Sparco Evo Carbon Fiber fits perfectly in a Miata!), the Sparco Evo Carbon Fiber is sure be a mainstay at the track!
The EVO Carbon is the all-carbon fiber version of the EVO QRT. It is constructed with “Pre-Preg” aerospace grade carbon fiber, also known as Dry Carbon. EVO Carbon is one of the lightest carbon fiber seats on the market. It weighs less than 10lbs (shell only) and 12lbs (with padding and cover). The EVO Carbon is has excellent fitment into smaller cockpits. The EVO series of seats feature the most back angle rake of all Sparco seats for a very comfortable driving position. It also has high grip material in strategic places such as the shoulder bolsters and seat bottom to aid in lateral support. The EVO Carbon is FIA 8859-1999 approved. The EVO QRT competition seat has been redesigned with new improved updates. The EVO QRT is now made with all-new QRT Technology which results in an ultra-light shell. The EVO QRT has been updated from the previous EVO seat with a reduced shoulder bolster dimension that allows fitment into smaller cockpits but can still accommodate a medium size driver. Also the shoulder harness belt openings have been raised to accommodate a taller driver. The Sparco Extrema-S racing suit takes the same patented Hocotex material used in the successful Eagle line and presents in a classically styled suit. Three times as breathable as a traditional layered racing suit, 360 degree floating arm gussets are combined with a stretch back panel for maximum flexibility and comfort. Extra flat seams provide additional comfort, while traditional design touches such as classic Sparco epaulletes and seamless ankle/wrist cuffs make this suit a perfect platform for sponsor logos!How does Hocotex work? Racing suits are traditionally constructed using layers of fabric sewn together with a quilted pattern. This quilting creates pockets of air between the layers which expands in a fire, providing thermal protection for the driver. Hocotex uses a honeycomb structure with over 60,000 internal air cells that provide a 10 to 12% increase in heat protection. Compare this to the 300 quilted chambers found in a traditional suit and the difference is clear!
