The problem of brake fluid boiling is due to heat transferring from the rotors and pads directly into the fluid through the caliper pistons. When brake fluid boils, it releases air that is normally part of the molecular structure of the fluid. This air is compressible, of course, and the brake pedal goes to the floor instead of moving the caliper pistons. Production cars tend to suffer from this on track days because they don't have the extensive cooling ducts and exotic brake materials found on race cars.
Race-only brake calipers generally come with titanium caliper pistons for one reason: titanium has low thermal conductivity. This means it's very bad at transferring heat, which is good if you're trying to keep your brake fluid from boiling. Here's a comparison of materials and their relative thermal conductivity ratings (lower is better):
Titanium 6AL-4V = 6.7 W/mk
Steel = 52 W/mk
Aluminum = 130 W/mk
Most fixed calipers use aluminum pistons which are, unfortunately, excellent at transferring braking heat to your brake fluid. Our solution is to place Girodisc's thin titanium shims between the brake pad and the caliper pistons. This helps prevent braking heat from transferring into the pistons and, thus, into the fluid.
For cars that are going to see hard or multiple track days, these shims are affordable protection from losing your brake pedal at the wrong time and making your track day very expensive.

The forces to the head in the majority of auto racing accidents come from rotational energy which promotes angular acceleration. It has become rare to have a direct linear impact to the head. Traditional FHR's solid construction and tethering prevent the ability to mitigate angular acceleration forces. With traditional FHR’s in an impact the brain and head immediately speed up and then come to an immediate stop when the tether stops the helmet, which has a similar effect to hitting your head on a wall despite not leaving a scratch on the helmet.IDS technology immediately begins slowing the impact down, controlling the helmet's movement forward, thereby reducing the transfer of angular acceleration forces to the head and brain.LOW-THRESHOLD ENERGYRecent medical research has provided alarming conclusions surrounding the causes, severity, and long-term effects of concussions. That's why we use 1.75 x .095" Docol R8 Advanced High-Strength Steel tubing. Docol R8 is stronger and more ductile than the Chromoly tubing other manufacturers use.
The CMS Performance Porsche GT4 RS Roll Bar features a cross-bar designed to put your racing harness shoulder straps at the correct angle (0° to -20° front-to-back) and distance (about 8 inches) relative to the driver. Yet the CMS roll bar requires no cutting through the carpeting in the middle of your interior (replacing this carpet is expensive if you ever want to return your car to stock). This also provides an ideal mount for a HD Racing Video camera.

Our use of Docol R8 tubing throughout also lets us to keep the driver's rear view unobstructed by the rear diagonal bracing typically used to support weaker roll bars. This also gives you unfettered access to the engine cover without removing any part of your roll bar.
